About Our Boys Gymnastics Program

At Silver Stars Gymnastics, every child is welcome. All of our gymnastics classes are fully co-ed, which means boys learn right alongside girls in a positive, encouraging environment. Whether your son is a toddler taking his first tumble or a teenager refining advanced skills, we have a program designed to meet him exactly where he is.
Founded in 1993, Silver Stars has spent over 32 years helping kids across the Washington, D.C. metro area build strength, confidence, and a lifelong love of movement. Our Silver Spring facility, located just off East West Hwy near the DC border, serves families from Bethesda, Takoma Park, Chevy Chase, Rockville, Kensington, and beyond.
Boys gymnastics is about much more than flips and handstands. It builds total-body strength, coordination, flexibility, and discipline that transfers to every other sport your child plays.

Meet Our Little Stars Class

Our toddler gymnastics class for children ages 18 months to 3 years is called Little Stars. It is a parent-child class, which means you stay on the floor with your toddler throughout the entire 45-minute class. You are not just watching from the sidelines. You are an active part of the experience, helping your child explore new movements while building trust and connection.

Coach ratio: Up to 7 children per coach
Classes use equipment specially designed for young children, including soft mats, low beams, and toddler-friendly stations that encourage climbing, rolling, jumping, and balancing at a comfortable pace.

What Boys Gymnastics Classes Do We Offer

Silver Stars offers a clear path for boys at every age and skill level. Here is a look at what is available.

Preschool Gymnastics

Ages 6 Months to 5 Years
Our youngest learners start with parent-child classes and progress to independent programs on age-appropriate equipment. Classes include Baby Stars (6 to 18 months), Little Stars (18 months to 3 years), Twinkling Stars (3 to 4 years), and Shining Stars (4 to 5 years). Preschool classes are 45 minutes long and meet once per week, with a coach-to-gymnast ratio of up to 7:1.

Artistic Gymnastics

Ages 5 to 17 Years
School-age boys build skills across all apparatus, including vault, bars, beam, and floor. Classes progress by age group: Comets (5 to 6 years), Meteors (7 to 10 years), and Asteroids (11 to 14 years). These gymnastics boys classes teach goal-setting, sportsmanship, and discipline alongside physical skills.

Tumbling and Trampoline

Ages 3 to 17 Years
TNT classes focus on floor tumbling and trampoline technique. Boys learn handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, and flipping skills while building core strength and body control. Classes are grouped by age and skill level.

Ninja and Fitness

Ages 5 to 10 Years
Ninja Stars I (ages 5 to 7) and Ninja Stars II (ages 8 to 10) combine gymnastics, martial arts, and obstacle course training. These high-energy classes are a favorite among boys who love to climb, jump, and challenge themselves.

Ready for More of a Challenge

For boys who want to take their training further, Silver Stars offers an invitational program. Invitational gymnasts train twice per week and follow an accelerated curriculum. Programs include Shooting Stars (ages 5 to 6), Galaxy Team Silver, Bronze, and Gold (ages 7 to 15), and Polaris (invitational TNT for ages 7 to 17). Placement is by coach recommendation.

What Comes After Little Stars

When your child turns 3, they can transition into our Twinkling Stars class, an independent 45-minute class where they begin working with coaches on their own. From there, Silver Stars offers a clear progression from preschool gymnastics (Shining Stars for ages 4 to 5) to school-age programs, all the way through competitive team levels. Your toddler's first class today can be the beginning of a journey that grows with them for years.
